About the Wisconsin Alliance for ComposersThe Wisconsin Alliance for Composers, Inc. (WAC) is a non-profit, tax-exempt Wisconsin corporation founded in 1984 to encourage and support the composition and performance of new music by Wisconsin composers. From a small but dedicated group of composers, WAC has grown to a membership of over 100 composers, performers, and new music supporters throughout the state.
WAC's Madison chapter (MadWAC) was founded in 1993 to continue WAC's mission with an emphasis on Dane County composers. MadWAC fills a unique niche in the Madison-area arts community, complementing Madison's numerous concerts with new music that is composed right here in the community.
