Al Benner

My wife and I spent four days in New York City at the end of May. It had been 22 years since the last time I was there and I approached it with some trepidation. But it was fabulous! We had a great time and encountered many nice people. Now life in the "fast-paced" world of Greenleaf will never be the same again. I am already saving my pennies for another chance at the "Big Apple."

I am hoping to host another WAC concert in Green Bay this Fall. At the time of this writing, I do not have specifics. Feel free to call or e-mail me with questions or inquiries about possible participation. That way I know if you are interested and how to contact you when I know something more definite.

The experience at the Spring Conference in Kenosha was a memorable one. Host Gary Verkade and the performers involved did a marvelous job. Carthage College is a beautiful campus right on the lake, and Siebert Chapel was not only visually appealing, it was a great place acoustically. If you weren't there, you missed a good opportunity.

I appreciate all of you who have written with your nice comments and those of you who have provided me with material. Don't be shy. This newsletter is a way for you to tell others about your musical activities. I am always looking for interesting articles to print and to start having some CD reviews. So send them in. September 15th, 1998 is the deadline for the next issue.
